Local mobile service in Puerto de la Cruz

Lost your car keys in Puerto de la Cruz? This is my base — I come to your car.

I’m Olexy — a mobile auto locksmith at Otypro in Tenerife, and Puerto de la Cruz is ordinary work for me. Keys cut and programmed at your vehicle: car lockout from €56, spare keys from €60, all-keys-lost from €200 (from €200 push-to-start) — the whole number written by text before I put the van in gear.

Puerto de la Cruz has lock shops for houses and businesses — the chip inside a modern car key is the different job, and the nearest dealer for your make is usually a tow away. I drive out with the cutting and programming kit and the work happens where the car sits. The honest version: it’s a booked trip, often the same day or the next morning, not a ten-minute rescue.

Why people text me from out here

The whole job happens in your driveway.

A car that has no working key can't drive itself anywhere — which is exactly why the fix has to come to it. The job I'm most often booked for out here is a full set of lost keys rebuilt from scratch at the vehicle: decode, cut, program, test-start, done on the spot.

The rest of the kit makes the same trip: a spare key cut before you're down to none, fob programming for a remote that quit, a key cut from the lock itself when no original survives, or a car lockout opened without damage when the keys are staring at you from the seat. Same tools, same dealer-level access, just west of the city.

The line that never moves: automotive only. House doors, garages, padlocks and safes aren't my trade, in Santa Cruz or in Puerto de la Cruz — if the lock isn't on a vehicle, I'll say so and point you to somebody who does buildings.

To quote a Puerto de la Cruz trip

  • ✓Text the year / make / model and what happened
  • ✓Say where the car sits — address, yard, or lot
  • ✓Send a photo of the VIN, and of your key if one survives
  • ✓I text back one written number — work and travel together
  • ✓At the car: photo ID checked against ownership, then I start
  • ✓Payment happens when the key works — never a deposit first. If an out-of-town job can't be completed, the travel line is what you owe, not the job price.

Wondering why the VIN matters? Here's what it tells me — and what it can't.

What it costs out here

The work costs city prices. The drive is one honest line.

Puerto de la Cruz is my base and the same starting service prices apply. Any travel charge and the after-hours fee of €50, when applicable, are included in the written quote before I leave.

The work — same as the city

  • Lost all keys — transponder / remote-headfrom €200
  • Lost all keys — push-to-start smart keyfrom €200
  • Spare / extra key — transponderfrom €60
  • Remote head / flip keyfrom €120
  • Proximity smart keyfrom €200
  • Key fob programmingfrom €60
  • Car lockout (keys locked inside)from €56

What gets added

Puerto de la Cruz — usually free

In Tenerife you pay for the job, not the drive — travel is normally already inside the standard price.

Outside the metro area — distance

€0.50 per km outside Puerto de la Cruz, itemised in the written quote before I commit to the drive.

After 9 p.m. — a flat fee

I work 24/7, every day. Work landing between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m. carries a flat €50 night callout fee on top of the regular starting price — and if it can safely wait for morning, I'll tell you that and book the cheaper slot.

Plus applicable tax

Tax lands on the total and shows up itemized on your receipt — never discovered on arrival.

The number you agree to by text is the number you pay. Rather not send the VIN before booking? Fine — your quote just comes back as a small range until I see the car.

Check me before you text

Look me up before you ever message me.

You just read a story about waiting a month for someone who kept not showing up — so don’t take my word for anything either. I’m a Tenerife-registered business with a public record; the registry search takes under a minute, and I’d rather you run it than trust a stranger’s promise on a webpage.

Past the paperwork, what actually protects you: commercial general liability insurance, dealer-level access to manufacturer key and immobilizer data, and the fixed rule that photo ID gets checked against proof of ownership before any key is cut. More about who I am, and the five checks I’d run on any car locksmith — including me.

Real locksmiths register and don’t mind being checked. That’s the whole point of printing the numbers.

Puerto de la Cruz questions, answered straight.

Questions about local service. General questions are on the full FAQ page.

Do you actually come out to Puerto de la Cruz?

Yes. Puerto de la Cruz is my base and part of my regular service area. Send your vehicle details, the problem and your location; I will confirm availability, arrival time and the quote before leaving.

I've lost every key to my car in Puerto de la Cruz — can you still make one?

Yes — that's all-keys-lost, the exact job in the story on this page: a Ford in Puerto de la Cruz with every key gone. With nothing left to copy, I decode the vehicle at the car, cut a fresh key, and program it through dealer-level access so the car starts and locks again. It happens where the car sits — a driveway, a car park by the seafront, a finca outside town. Government photo ID and proof of ownership come first, every time.

How much does it cost compared to Tenerife, and is there a travel charge?

The work itself costs what it costs in Tenerife — the same pricing page floors: car lockout from €56, a spare key from €60, all-keys-lost from €200 for most transponder and remote-head keys, or from €200 for a push-to-start smart key. A second key made the same visit costs less than coming back for it later — I put that number in your written quote. What's added out here is travel: €0.50 per km outside Puerto de la Cruz, in the written quote before I drive, so the number you agree to is the number you pay. If the work lands between 9 p.m. and 7 a.m., a flat €50 night callout fee is added on top of the job's regular starting price — named in that same written quote.

How soon can you get here?

Often the same day or the next morning, depending on where I already am when you text. I'll tell you honestly in the same message as the quote — and if I can't make it when you need it, I'll say that instead of booking you in and moving the date on you.

What happens if you drive out and the job can't be finished?

Then the travel line in your written quote is what you owe — not the full job price. You pay for the work when the key works; if something about the vehicle stops me from finishing, the mileage that brought me out is the only part that stands. I say it plainly because the alternative — a full bill for a job that didn't happen — is exactly the kind of surprise this page exists to rule out.

Do you do house lockouts, garages, or padlocks in Puerto de la Cruz?

No — automotive only, in Puerto de la Cruz and everywhere else. No house doors, no garages, no padlocks, no safes. If the lock isn't on a vehicle, I'll point you to someone who handles buildings rather than pretend it's my trade. Car keys, car fobs, and car lockouts are the whole business.
